महाराष्ट्र में लगातार हो रही मूसलाधार बारिश ने जनजीवन पूरी तरह अस्त-व्यस्त कर दिया है। मुंबई, पुणे और आसपास के इलाकों में भारी जलभराव के साथ कई स्थानों पर भूस्खलन की घटनाएं सामने आई हैं।मेयर रितु तावड़े का कहना है, "भारी बारिश, तेज़ हवाओं और समुद्र में ऊँची लहरों की आशंका को देखते हुए 'रेड' अलर्ट जारी किया गया है। हम हर आधे घंटे में नागरिकों को मौसम से जुड़ी जानकारी भेज रहे हैं और उनसे घर से बाहर न निकलने की अपील कर रहे हैं। आज और कल सभी BMC स्कूल बंद रहेंगे; इसे एक-दो दिन और बढ़ाया जा सकता है। हमने प्राइवेट कंपनियों से भी 'वर्क फ्रॉम होम' की इजाज़त देने को कहा है।
Relentless torrential rains in Maharashtra have completely disrupted normal life. Severe waterlogging and landslides have been reported in Mumbai, Pune, and surrounding areas. Mayor Ritu Tawde states, "A 'Red' alert has been issued due to the forecast of heavy rainfall, strong winds, and high sea waves. We are providing weather updates to citizens every half-hour and urging them not to step out of their homes. All BMC schools will remain closed today and tomorrow; this closure may be extended by another day or two. We have also requested private companies to allow employees to work from home."
